New features in next update

Thursday December 10, 2009 by David Smehlik

As announced, we are actually starting weblog for Cookmate. The real aim of this blog is to give you some more information of our planned steps and giving you news about Cookmate development and future plans.

Many of you asked for some information about new recipe playlists. We also received many questions linked with search results and user photos. Here are some news regarding features we are planning to include in the newest version of Cookmate.app. It’s going to be launched most likely in next 3 or 4 weeks in App Store.

Search optimization

It’s necessary to tweak our search engine in case of relevancy of founded recipes. We plan to add something we call “the key ingredient” for each recipe. This could fix problems with giving some freaky answers in time you are searching. For example, chicken based food. We are also working on prioritizing ingredients in recipes.

User photos

We are adding notifications to the recipes of newly added photos to each recipe by other users. We are also including the possibility to download all these pictures in the app.

Sharing groceries list

You should be able to send your groceries list from the app by sms or e-mail to your friends, wife or flat mates.

Language switch

Many of you had troubles with the default language in the application. Now, it’s set based on the default language of your device. In Cookmate v 1.1, there is going to be a language switch in the settings.

Own recipes

Do you believe, that you have a recipe, which you really want to have in the app? Let’s add it to your “Personal recipe playlist” and use it by search.

Favorite recipes, recipe hiding

Did you find recipe, which you really like? Add it to your “Favorites” and next time, you could find it better in a few seconds. On the other hand, did you find something you really don’t like? Let’s hide it from your search results!

Recipe sharing

Send your favorite recipes to your friends directly from the app by simple clicking on the share button. We would like to add some more social networks other then Facebook and give you a tool for simple sharing of recipes.

As you can see, we are never asleep. Do you have some more ideas? Give us a comment under this post or contact us by the support forum.
